Future Parade – for 14 to 17 year olds – 29 Apr – apply now

The project, ‘Future Parade’ is being run by MACNAS in Galway in partnership with BIAF, EastSide Arts and Féile An Phobail and is being funded through the Creative Youth Shared Island initiative.

It will bring together 20 young people (14-17) from Belfast who are really keen to get involved in design and performing arts. They will work with artists to learn how to put together an outdoor performance parade and will collaborate with a partner youth group in Galway to design their own final project for autumn 2025. They will learn about storytelling, design, movement and the logistics of putting on a large-scale public event.

This will happen through weekly workshops (Tues evenings, 6-7.30pm in Ulster University) The next workshop is on Tuesday 29th April and they will also get the chance to go on short weekend residentials with the Galway group in Corrymeela and Galway. The Corymeela residential will be 20th – 22nd June, and the Galway residential will be 26th to 28th September.

The programme is completely free to participants, including the residentials.

The numbers are capped at 20, and we have a few signed-up already, but there are still some spaces left.
