RELIQUARY, AS OUBLIETTE | Eibh Gordon at University of Atypical – 1 May to 25 June

RELIQUARY, AS OUBLIETTE University of Atypical present our 2024 Belfast School of Art Graduate Award solo exhibition with awardee Eibh Gordon.

‘RELIQUARY, AS OUBLIETTE’ is a body of work which explores the materialisation of mortality and pain through sculptural offerings and ensorcelled amulets. These corporeal objects parallel ancient votives and sorceries to manifest wellness but also act as a memento mori: a reminder that inevitably the flesh will die.

EIBH GORDON is a queer visual artist practicing in Bangor. In 2024 she graduated from Ulster University with a Masters Degree in Fine Art, prior to which she graduated with a Bachelors in Textile Art, Design and Fashion. Eibh will also give an artist talk in the gallery on Friday 9th May from 2.30pm – 3.30pm with BSL interpretation.

Gallery opening hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10:00am – 5.30pm. The gallery will be open for Late Night Art Belfast on 1st May and 5th June between 6:00pm and 9:00pm.

Access information: The venue has step-free access throughout. • Hearing loop system. • Accessible toilet with height-adjustable sink, hoist, and changing bench. • Defibrillator. • Period products. • British and Irish Sign Language, audio-described tours, and Braille are available on request.
