The U.Dance National Festival offers young dancers an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their talent on a professional stage alongside other youth dance groups from across the UK. Participants will also engage in enriching workshops with leading dance companies and gain insights from inspiring speakers during career talks.
Head of Children and Young People’s Dance at One Dance UK, Laura Nicholson, says:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing the U.Dance National Festival to Glasgow for the first time ever this July. Year on year we are completely blown away by the sheer energy, talent and creativity of all the young people involved and we can’t wait to see what High Points Youth Ballet brings to the stage!”
One Dance UK works towards excellence, equity and growth across all areas of dance, with members spanning the entirety of the UK and the dance sector. Through their membership, groups gain access to dance-specific advice, opportunities, networking, training, and resources. The organisation promotes dance as a viable career pathway and works to advance the diversity of dance across the UK.
The festival opens on Friday 3 July with a glittering opening ceremony featuring guest dance performers, music and speakers alongside a traditional ceilidh, bringing together all the dancers from across the UK, before launching into two full days of performances, workshops and masterclasses on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July.
