Poetry in Motion Schools – Update 2012-13

Workshops are currently taking place across the region. Twelve poets are working with hundreds of young people creating new poetic masterpieces. Poets get crazy in the classrooms using drama, storytelling and visual art to make poetry fun and accessible whilst enhancing literacy skills. Each poet spends six hours in each of their schools, word-playing and banishing page fright!  Feedback from the schools has been fantastic so far as the children hone their writing skills. Already our young participants are beginning to prepare for their performances to the microphone for the audio recordings of their verses. A great start to the new term as we take the words off the page and give them a little pizzazz!
