Trash Fashion Project Update 2012

This years Trash Fashion project, is now beginning with Heather matching her artists up with the following groups:

Saints Youth Centre aims to improve the lives of young people in the Colin area, to accept all members of society, to provide activities that will improve educational and recreational lives of young people.

Welcome Project/Bilingual Youth Project/Women’s group offers a wide range of advice and practical help to support ethnic minorities and migrant workers. Its primary aim is to create a truly inclusive and safe community which welcomes all regardless of difference to ensure that communities will be less racist, more integrated and more sustainable with effective community network.

B.E.A.D/Nubia South Belfast Eagles is a community group which creates arts through dance and culture.

Cliftonville Community Centre provides a range of services and an opportunity for the local community to come to address their needs and gain support and advice.

Denmark St Community Centre delivers a range of projects and activities for children and young people, older people and parents in the lower Shankill Community.

Flax Housing Association provides safe and affordable accommodation with access to training, education and employment opportunities from which young people are empowered to become socially and economically active citizens.
