The CAP Side by Side project enables groups across Northern Ireland to work in parallel with other programme strands and participate in workshops in a variety of art forms. This year we have a large spectrum of groups from across the land and they are right in the thick of it with their projects.
The brilliant Headway group from Newry had a great road trip to Belfast last week to visit the Beat Initiative studios to start off their community carnival arts project with artist Mary Cowan. CAP would like to extend our thanks to Matt at the Beat Initiative for his time and effort put into accommodating the visit. Great inspiration and ideas where gathered on the trip and we are looking forward to seeing the new emerging Newry carnival artists in action when then take part in the Newry carnival parade in 2013. Headway Newry are working on a theme inspired by a song written by the group and further updates of this and other projects will be posted on the Side by Side Project page.
