Project Co-ordinator Sally Young updates CAP on the Masque Project

It always gives me a wee buzz to see that our projects have a life after the workshops have ended! Here is the work from three of our Masque groups proudly on display…

Olympia

Young people from the evening youth group made this wall hanging to commemorate the life of their young friend, Melissa. The piece shows examples of things that were dear to her, and includes a picture of her in happier times, larking about and acting the eejit!

Rathfern Community Regeneration Group

This piece was created by young people and hangs pride of place in the new fancy pants re-furbished community centre in Rathfern. Some of the same group will be starting a drama project with CAP tutor Rachael Mc Cabe, later in the year. Can’t wait to see what they come up with this time!

Grove Day Centre

This time last year, our friends at the Grove were busy working with Anne Quail on a series of watercolour painting workshops as part of “Birds of a Feather” Side by Side project. A year later, they are just getting their work back, after a long term residence in the display cases at Musgrave Park Hospital. This was arranged by Arts Care artist Grainne Kielty, who told us “They get loads of comments from visitors and staff alike, they’re so colourful and happy. They really brighten up the corridor, you often see people stopping to have a good look!”
