Cumann Culturtha Mhic Reachtain (The McCracken Cultural Society) – October 2015

The project title is: “Our Sculpture Park” and this is being made by Cumann Culturtha Mhic Reachtain (The McCracken Cultural Society) and is under the artistic direction of Fiona Ni Mhaoilir.

The Cumann Culturtha Mhic Reachtain is situated opposite the Waterworks on the Antrim Road, Belfast. The Waterworks was the source of Belfast’s water supply in the mid-19th Centenary. It became a public park in the 1950’s.

Drawing on the Waterworks for inspiration, the young people on the Landmarks project are designing and making their very own collective miniature sculpture park.

Participants are being encouraged to experiment with a variety of materials and bring their imaginary park into reality.
