trash-fashion-2016

Over the past six months groups from all over Northern Ireland have been designing and creating their own fashions and costumes.

This innovative project encourages participants to slash, shred, stencil, embroider, embellish, print and dye, deconstruct and upcycle second hand clothing, to create a unique look. Workshops educate participants about recycling, sourcing eco-friendly materials, giving them the opportunity to showcase their original outfits and celebrate their achievements in a professionally staged fashion show.

This year, the participants are:

  • Highfield Community Centre.
  • Careers N Kids.
  • Clonard Youth Club.
  • Shankill Methodist Girls Brigade.
  • BME Carers.
  • St. Aidan’s PTFA.
  • Lisburn Downtown Centre.

Date and time: Saturday 12th March, from 2pm to 3pm.

Venue: Lecture Theatre, Ulster Museum, Botanic Gardens, Belfast.

Admission: Free.
