TRASH Fashion Show 2016 – Highfield Community Centre Showcase

Highfield Community Centre and Clonard youth Club have been participating over the last few months in Community Arts Partnerships Trash Fashion, Recycling project.

On Thursday 25th Feb 2016, Highfield Community Centre, leader Robert Sterrrett invited the Clonard Youth Club girls to join them in a mini fashion show, to the delight of the local community. The CAP artists who facilitated both projects were Claire Concannon, Highfield Community Centre and Naiomh Larkin, Clonard youth Club.

Both groups are now excited to be participating in the main event, The Trash Fashion Show on 12th March 2016, The Ulster Museum, 2pm-3pm.

The colourful outfits on show included dresses made from such items as plastic bags, popcorn cartons and melted crisps bags.

The show was attended by local DUP Councillor Frank McCoubrey who show his support for the Cross Community project and met with all the participants.
