Consultation on Public Art/Memorial in the City Cemetery (Baby Public plot) – ‘All Names Known’ – March update

Community Arts Partnership has just submitted the report to Belfast City Council following the creative public consultation.

We have also asked BCC to come back to us, with any response, as soon as they can but we appreciate that this might take a little time for reaction.

The lengthy report included the contributions from 300 people who expressed their emotional interest in seeing the memorial in the space of the Public Baby Plot. This shows a supportive reaction from families and the empathising community.

It is also a credit to all who shared their sets of “words”, came along to the cemetery before Christmas to leave their flowers and messages, attended the papermaking workshops and shared your feelings about the memorial in the Public Baby Plot. Thank you. CAP is grateful to all of you.

We would also like to share a bit more of your feedback but at this point, feel that we need to allow council some time to read and process your responses and ideas. Watch this space, the CAP Facebook, e-briefing and websites as we will post comments as soon as we hear any updates.
