Consultation on Public Art/Memorial in the City Cemetery (Baby Public plot) – ‘All Names Known’ – May update

Belfast City Council has issued a short statement to the many participants of the “All Names Known” creative, public consultation, which took place over recent months in the City Cemetery.

We are continuing to work with Belfast City Council on the next steps as mentioned and we too are extremely grateful to the many people who responded by adding their voices to the consultative process for this highly sensitive issue.

Belfast City Council Update

Belfast City Council wishes to thank all of you who participated in the consultation on how we should mark the plot that contains your loved ones in the City Cemetery. We acknowledge that this is an emotional process and we appreciate such a large number of you sharing your personal and very moving stories with us.

We are now working with Carole from, Community Arts Partnership to finalise the report, so that we can publish it in a suitable form. We plan to share this with you. We will also bring the report’s recommendations to our Committee in the coming months, so that they can consider your reflections and suggestions for a fitting tribute.

We would hope to be in a position to provide you with an update on the next stage of this process in early autumn. In the meantime if you have any queries please send them through to parksandlesiure@belfastcity.gov.uk

Please stay in touch with CAP as we will add any updated information to our website as and when we hear from Council.
