Landmarks 2016-2017 – September update

Landmarks 2016-2017 has got off to a great start, with eight projects taking place across the province.

Facilitating artists are booked, start dates are arranged, materials are being purchased and there is an air of anticipation of creativity in the centres.

We have a mix of groups involved this season, including youth groups in Moneyglass and Belfast, a children’s home in Newtownards, a centre for adults with learning disabilities, community groups in Ballymena, Dervock and Bangor.

The projects are adapted to suit the environments and communities who will make or experience the work. For example, one centre is preparing a space for pet therapy, so they are planning a tactile mosaic as a feature wall.

Another centre is based in a shopping centre and together with their core group, they hope to invite passers-by to be engaged in their making process of a sculptural piece.

There are other exciting plans so, stay in touch with the CAP website to watch how these projects develop over the following months.
