Extern Young Graduate Programme from L’Derry is also doing a Landmarks project facilitated by Artist Caroline Devenny. They meet in the Verbal Arts Centre and their artwork will be a permanent piece for a busy area in the building.
After seeing some examples of the technique, they have decided to create a mosaic. Caroline and the group discussed the process of mosaic and considered what was possible to achieve within the budget, time and space. They considered what image would work well in mosaic and experimented with drawings on A3 paper, using coloured markers. Their plan includes the Derry Bridge and an Art Nouveau rose.
The group is making progress and they still have some time ahead to make their final artwork. Everyone is looking forward to seeing what the final outcome will be.
