I’m honoured to be the Runner Up in this year’s New Writing Award, especially as the judges are three poets who I greatly admire.
I was very surprised to hear my name called out, but am obviously delighted.
Thank you to the CAP for all the great work you do in supporting poetry and in particular with the Poetry in Motion workshops. I remember coming out of the workshops back in December buzzing with ideas – one of which became ‘A Storm Will Come’.
I’d also like to say congratulations to Linda on her victory and to all the long and short-listed poets. I’ve been reading through the anthology since Sunday and there are some really stunning poems included, which makes my award even more surprising.”
