Skyway Club silk pieces revealed

The Skyway Club met just before Easter to celebrate the completion of their artwork.

These hand painted silk pieces were created in the autumn and are being kept safe for the newly renovated rooms in Ballynafeigh Community House when they are ready in the next few weeks.

The tropical plant life images include words written in an earlier poetry project overseen by writer Jan Carson…

The plants seemed sixteen times talker than me
The leaves feel like they are dipped in velvet
Some of them were like cotton wool in our hands

These colourful silk hangings and canvases were facilitated by artist Carole Kane. The group is extremely proud of their achievements.
