Join the Northern Irish Composers Collective

We are the composers collective of Northern Ireland!

The main purpose of this group is to bring Northern Irish Composers together. That being said, a composer is someone who writes music and like many art forms there are many ways to do this. For example, songwriting, choral writing, orchestral writing, experimental writing and sound design are just a few ways this is done. Our work can also be used in other areas such as film, dance, theatre and art. But we live in a digital age where music is undervalued by us all and so easily accessed.

We are looking for people with an interest in composition and music to join our group as we share opportunities, post about events and show our work to the rest of the group. We feel, like other art forms, opportunities are severely lacking for composers and musicians in general in Northern Ireland. Because of this, those that arise are only heard about last minute, not giving anyone enough time to prepare or create a adequate submission. Furthermore, when we create work, we share it, but generally not with people who are interested.

This group is built on the idea of sharing. We want to create a sense of community for composers to better themselves and be appreciated by other artists in Northern Ireland.

If you feel this is for you please don’t hesitate to join our group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/892033937648200/
