13/3/2020
It is regrettable but as of today 13th March, 2020, Community Arts Partnership sees no alternative but to cancel the Launch of the Vision Anthology in the Seamus Heaney Homeplace on Sunday 15th March. In the current circumstances, there are real and present concerns for the health and safety of all taking part and indeed, there is an unprecedented but understandable level of anxiety around such gatherings, despite the guidance from government. These events are designed to be celebratory, not to expose our participants to additional stress and worry.
We will endeavour to re-schedule the launch to later in the year and indeed the Seamus Heaney Awards for New Writing will not be announced until we can re-programme that event, confidently and safely.
We apologise to all involved, especially those on the Long List for the Awards, but I am confident that we are making an informed and proactive decision in these difficult and unprecedented circumstances.
Please keep an eye on our website for further communications and take care, as we all do our best to look after the health and safety of ourselves, our families and our communities in the meantime.
Best wishes
Conor Shields
CEO Community Arts Partnership
