Moving on Music launches an ‘All About…’ outreach series

Moving on Music has launched an ‘All About…’ outreach series, featuring tutorial and demonstration videos from the world of jazz and classical music.

Some videos are tailored to be relevant for GCSE / A Level music students and others are tailored for those who are learning specific instruments.

Each musician has created a set of 2-3 videos, breaking down their instrument, techniques, the style and characteristics in which it is played and notable pieces performed on it.

The most recent allotment of ‘All About…’ outreach videos comes from Irish violinist, Darragh Morgan.

Darragh leads a successful career in classical music and is known for his versatile ability to perform music from Baroque to Contemporary styles. His two-part series will take us on a journey of old and new music for the violin, looking at composers, styles and techniques.

Video 1: Contemporary Music for the Violin

Video 2: Baroque Music for the Violin

Next up in the series we have the wonderful Belfast based flautist, Aisling Agnew. Aisling will be talking about the use of bird song when composing for the classical flute and how this tradition has been carried from Baroque music through to the 20th century and present day.
