Black Box Projects Volunteers Shortlisted for Creative Lives Awards

The Black Box is really excited to announce that our Black Box Projects Volunteer team have been shortlisted for the Creative Lives Awards! They were nominated for their amazing support, enthusiasm, and creativity in supporting group members to continue to connect with our projects online over lockdown.

Black Box Projects include projects for and by people with learning disabilities and many of our group members were already socially isolated before lockdown. With the support of our dedicated volunteer team, we were able to continue to support our group members with no break in delivery. Our Zoom sessions started in March last year and are still running!

Creating Connections, Moon Music, our Book Club and Global Discussion group have all been running on Zoom – we were even able to work with some Artists and Facilitators in Dublin, America and Japan, taking advantage of working online! One  of our Volunteers joined every session from Spain!

The skills, experience and fun that each of our volunteers bring to group workshops are unique, wide-ranging, and innovative! Everything from poetry, storytelling, Drama and Visual Art to Music, different languages, animation, and Circus Skills!
