Calling all young poets and their schools across the island!
Community Arts Partnership’s celebrated schools creative writing programme Poetry In Motion Schools (PIMS), which began in 2000, is still thriving. Even during the pandemic, it has continued to engage hundreds of pupils of all ages and their teachers in a successful annual poetry programme culminating in a celebratory event, the launch of an anthology to be called “All Write Now”, and the presentation of the ninth Seamus Heaney Award for Achievement.
Poetry in Motion Schools is open to all schools across the island of Ireland: primary, post primary, special school, preparatory, hospital schools and so on. It is a fully-resourced programme supported by National Lottery funding from our principal funder, The Arts Council of Northern Ireland and with support from the DFA in the South. Whilst we have a top team of the absolute best poetry facilitators (all producing poets themselves) from across the country, we are glad to be able to rely on the goodwill and enthusiasm of teachers and the participation of their pupils.
