CAP Update – Side by Side – Artist Facilitator Anne Quail working with the ETC Club – Part 1

The ETC Club as been in existence for a long time and is based in the Morton Community Centre Belfast. The group is made up of adults with disabilities who meet weekly on a regular basis to do activities and have social outings together.

The direction of Our Side by Side project has been dictated by the group who felt that trying out new things each week would be more fun. Here is a taste of what we have been doing,

We have painted still life using watercolour paints, the end results are a collection of framed paintings that can be displayed singularly or together.

We have done some painted textile landscapes that we can display as one wall hanging and then separated so the participants can take their own work home.

Food is a popular topic of conversation in the Club so we felted some of the most favourite plates and these will be framed to be displayed in the Centre.

One of the group just loves to colour in ( don’t we all) so most weeks i promised that we will have some down time doing this.

The next activity is modelling using soft clay, i am excited to see where this might take us.
