City of Sanctuary was a site-specific performance piece performed on 27th June 2013 as part of the Festival of the North East at St John the Baptist Church in Newcastle upon Tyne – It was a partnership between The Cyrenians, Northumbria University, West End Refugee Services, Freedom From Torture, Lawnmowers Independent Theatre Company, Better Days, Crossings Music Unite and many amazing individuals
