Where to now?
During Covid I really started to work hard on my playing and I was very fortunate to get a gig with a musician called Rob Snarski. The band is called SnarskicircusLindyBand and we have just released a mini album titled, “SomebodySaid that Somebody Said”, and I have been touring with him for the last 18 months and we have just finished an album.
I worked with a young woman called Alex the Astronaut, a very popular artist, and she hadn’t worked with a drummer before, she had just written her songs. I added drums to those songs and we toured all the festivals.
I came over to Newcastle on Tyne to work with a band called The Girl with the Replaceable Head, the key person in that band is a person called Taffy Hughes from a band called Hurrah. I recorded an album with them remotely and I toured with them as well. I was never happy with the recording and so I agreed to come over to the UK and record another album and I am really happy with that. We recorded that album in Polestar Studios which was set up by Pauline Murray from the band Penetration.

I have just been offered other gigs in Australia and that is great. I am 71 years old and I expect that I have another 4 or 5 years to keep playing. It is ridiculous to assume that I can play forever.
One of the things that I was made aware of when I worked at Support Act was how young musicians are when they die. But all in all I feel that given the huge break in my music career, I am still playing and I am playing well and I intend to as much of that as I can while I am still able.
