CAP update – Side By Side with Dungannon’s Willowbank Ltd and artist/facilitator, Gwen Stevenson

Community Arts Partnership (CAP) are privileged to have collaborated with Willowbank Ltd, a remarkable not-for-profit voluntary organization based in Dungannon, known for its dedication to providing day opportunities, training, and vital support for adults with physical disabilities and sensory impairments.

CAP recently played a key role in fostering creativity and empowerment in the Willowbank community. Our talented artist, Gwen Stevenson, created an enchanting art and crafts program, for staff and clients.

As the Halloween season approached, participants embarked on a thrilling artistic endeavour, conjuring up a delightful array of spooky masterpieces. Felted pumpkins, mischievous ghouls and enchanting witches came to life under Gwen’s expert guidance. The room was brimming with infectious enthusiasm, fostering a sense of camaraderie and accomplishment within the Willowbank family, that often broke into a singsong.

The transition to the festive holiday season brought forth the creation of exquisite Christmas pearl and felt baubles. This phase of the program not only provided a platform for creativity but also served as a valuable learning opportunity for all involved.

At CAP, we firmly believe that art has the power to connect, inspire, and empower individuals and communities. The collaboration with Willowbank and Gwen Stevenson embodied these principles, offering a platform for creative expression, growth, and camaraderie.
