Argyle Business Centre – Community Music Studios – Launch of Star Studios

Andy Fee – Star Studios (Singer, Playwright and Film-maker)

We’re very happy to launch the studio today. We have had a lot of help and support and now it is just time to get the information out to people to say that if you want to be creative, if you want to try out singing or playing music, then come to the studio and we will help you to do whatever you want to do..

Brian Kingston – MLA – Member for Belfast North

I have known Andy Fee for a while now and I went up to see Andy’s son’s recording studio.  I went with Drennan Mcbride who is the CEO of the Argyle Business Centre.

From there Andy and his son have set up in the Argyle Business Centre and that means that local people have a facility, a studio, which they can come along to and record themselves singing a song or playing music.

They can be creative in a space which is a reasonably priced, accessible, community space. This is a partnership between the Argyle Business Centre and Star Studios. We hope that this will encourage and develop talent in the area.

Andrew Fee – Star Studios (Musician, Singer and Recording Engineer)

I was always into music. I picked up guitar when I was younger, and then I got into singing. After that I started to record myself. MY father was always a great help to me giving me bits and pieces over the year.

I have learned to record music properly over the years and now we have set up this studio so that people can be encouraged to try out either recording themselves singing, or even interviewing people, like a podcast, or playing music.

We have instruments here, we have recording equipment and we want to make people feel comfortable so that they can try something out. It won’t cost much to record something and our approach is to ensure that people, young people or even older people, that they won’t be overwhelmed when they enter the studio.
