East Belfast Late Night Art Launch – 12 Sept

Platform Arts are delighted to invite you to the launch of the first East Belfast Late Night Art. With funding from Belfast 24 Bank of Ideas, Platform Arts are collaborating with the Strand, Arts Care, Open Arts and Creative Exchange to bring an evening of celebration of the arts in East Belfast on Thursday 12th September doors 5.30pm – 8.30pm at Connswater Shopping Centre and Portview Trade Centre. After the success of Late Night Art in the city centre, we want to create an evening where people can discover the artistic talent right on their doorstep in the East.

From September, various participating galleries in East Belfast will be opening the second Thursday of every month to showcase their latest exhibition along with free refreshments. On the 12th September, Platform Arts will be exhibiting new work from Reuben Brown and Darcy Patterson, the Strand will be hosting a screening of short films alongside their temporary exhibition ‘The Strand through the Ages’ , Arts Care are hosting a new exhibition of work from university students with learning disabilities in collaboration with Arts for All, Open Arts will have their new Connswater space open to the public, and Creative Exchange are hosting their members show on the 2nd Floor of Portview Trade Centre.

Free mini pies will be provided by Hearty Growers with Pie in the Sky at Connswater Shopping Centre, and participants are invited to join Eastside Arts for a free half pint at Boundary Taproom after the event. The organisation is also offering a free walking tour of all the participating galleries.
