Juanita Rea, Indian South African artist living in Belfast released her debut single’ ‘Unashamed’ on October 30th at the premiere of ‘Vagina In The Room’ a multidisciplinary performance in which she destigmatises childhood sexual trauma and domestic violence.
The song was written in Belfast on October 30th 2020 and was supported by Arts Council Northern Ireland, through a 2021/22 Minority Ethnic Award and by the School of Arts, English and Languages, Queen’s University Belfast. It is the title track of her upcoming debut album.
Proceeds from song sales support her Global Talent visa extension fundraiser to support her in continuing to live and work in Belfast.
