The Code of Good Governance (the Code) sets out the principles and key elements of good governance for the boards/committees of not-for-profit organisations including charities, voluntary, community, sporting, faith and social enterprises.
The aim of the Code is to help boards/committees to develop high standards of governance and improve their governance practice. The accompanying Governance Health Check has been devised as a practical resource to help board/committee members review their governance arrangements, check that they have appropriate systems in place and identify areas where they could improve.
The Developing Governance Group members will be delivering five online workshops, one for each of the five principles of the Code, to help organisations get started on reviewing their own governance practice. They will explain how the Code and Governance Health Check can be used to help board/committee members achieve a greater understanding of what is expected of them in their governance role.
They will also demonstrate how the Governance Health Check and DIYcommitteeguide can be used to help implement better governance practice in their organisations.
These seminars are open to trustees and employees of voluntary and community organisations as well as those who advise them.
