In 2030, Belfast Stories will open in Belfast city centre on the 5000 square metre site where North Street and Royal Avenue meet, including the Art Deco former Bank of Ireland buildings. The site sits directly beside Belfast Central Library separated by Kent Street.
At the end of 2022 the public were asked what they thought about the early plans before any design work started. Since then, Belfast Stories have appointed their design teams and now want to hear the public’s views on these early concept designs and discuss how they have taken on board previous feedback.
Belfast Stories are running a public consultation from 19 November 2024 – 23 February 2025. The consultation document outlining their plans is attached for information and more details are available here Belfast Stories Public Consultation 2024 | Your say Belfast.
The aims of this consultation are to…
- continue to promote the project, raise awareness and gain buy-in.
- make sure that Belfast Stories is for everyone – including completion of an equality impact assessment (EQIA) and a rural needs impact assessment (RNIA).
- Gain feedback on current design thinking and plans, and for what they hear and learn to inform the next phase of the project.
On Wednesday 19 February Belfast Stories are hosting a session in Belfast Central Library at 2:00pm.
Attendees are invited to hear more about the project and to have their say on the latest developments. The audience will then form breakout groups for discussion with prompts from the Belfast Stories team.
