North Down Museum – ‘Inspiration and Transformation’ An exhibition of the works of County Down artists – to 31 Aug

The Girls of the Fishery – Georgina Moutray Kyle RUA 1865 – 1950

Thursday 19 June – Sunday 31 August

Inspiration and Transformation, North Down Museum’s new exhibition, is now open in the Long Gallery.

This exciting new exhibition is a celebration of the works of some of the greatest artists who have worked in the Borough. We have a long history of artistic expression and have been home to many working artists over the years. Today, the creative industries are still flourishing, and our Borough has a culture of supporting artists and nurturing new talent.

This exhibition will focus on celebrating the work of some of the most significant and prestigious artists of the twentieth century who have lived and worked in the Borough. It draws together artworks from North Down Museum’s collection and private lenders to highlight how our people, towns and landscape have been transformed into some of the finest examples of Irish modern art.
