We’re all young once, and bloody useless most of the time. Yes yes, of course, but not always. Once, and this is true, I found a room full of young people so talented, so merry and joyful and creative and also lovely that I wept for joy. Ten tears, twenty tears, two hundred tears, the number I cannot know. Truth be told, rooms like this gather not often enough, no no, nowhere near enough, but one of these precious rooms we dare supply to you.
COLLECTIVE WE – be sure it is known! We who is not just the we writing this blurb but also the we who is supplying the art in the room that we are talking about! Vault Marlborough gallery, reshaped by the art of 200, 2000, perhaps 2 million tiny human fingers, mouths, and brains.
Paintings and illustrations have made up and are together again. At long last we have sculptures shaking hands with poems and standing proudly side by side, and they all together get to kiss and make up and tell each other how great they are and have a glass of wine or maybe a sandwich and YOU get to watch, you voyeuristic freak. It’s almost like we’ve blended together a zine jam, poetry reading, the circus, a funeral service, the colour blue, and Noam Chomsky, just to squeeze their collective juice out, and splatter it all over the gallery walls. Opening on late night art! Keep your eyes open with toothpicks and looking with intensity, always, at the Vault socials, as we’ll be announcing workshops and other like events for the week the exhibition is open.
