Job Title: Project Co-Ordinator – Maps and Memories (Part-Time, 3 Days/Week)
Reports to: Director, NI Science Festival
Location: Belfast-based at the NI Science Festival office at the Crescent Arts Centre (with flexible/hybrid working options). Travel across Northern Ireland required.
Contract Type: Fixed-term, part-time (3 days per week)
Project Duration: 2 years until July 2027.
Salary: £18,720 per annum (based on £31,200 FTE)
Pension: Employer pension contributions included
About the Project
Maps and Memories is a community heritage project that marks the 200th anniversary of the Ordnance Survey’s first detailed mapping of Ireland. Led by NI Science Festival in partnership with Ordnance Survey NI, Queen’s University Belfast, the National Trust, and Historic Environment Division, this 2 year project will explore the cultural, environmental and historical impact of surveying and mapping in Northern Ireland. Through exhibitions, talks, walks, workshops and storytelling, the project will bring communities together to explore and share how our landscapes have been shaped and recorded. Thanks to National Lottery players, the project is made possible through funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Role Overview
The Project Co-Ordinator will play a key role in managing the delivery of Heritage Lottery Funded project Maps and Memories, acting as the central point of contact between partners, communities, and the project team. This role is perfect for a dynamic and highly organised individual who loves maps and has experience working on cultural or heritage-based initiatives and enjoys engaging with the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, coordination and day-to-day delivery of project activity across Northern Ireland.
- Work closely with partners and community organisations to shape and deliver a programme of inclusive events.
- Coordinate logistics for events and exhibitions including venue bookings, materials, and guest liaison.
- Track project timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.
- Support communications and promotion by providing content and updates for marketing.
- Assist with audience and stakeholder evaluation and feedback collection.
