Are you passionate about film and television and curious about how things are made behind the scenes? The Creative Industries New Entrants (CINE) Programme offers an exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience and start your career in the screen industry.
Funded by the Department for Communities and delivered in partnership with BBC Northern Ireland, the CINE Programme aims to open access to the screen industries to people who are currently underrepresented. To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must be aged 18 or over and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be from an ethnic minority background
- Have a disability
- Be from a lower socio-economic background
The Camera Trainee will be placed on professional productions across Northern Ireland, including drama, feature films, and large-scale TV. You’ll support the camera department with essential tasks such as setting up monitors, managing camera equipment, preparing “sides” (daily scripts), and operating the clapperboard.
No previous professional experience is required, just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Before your first placement, you’ll take part in up to four weeks of industry-focused training, covering topics like health & safety, camera equipment, and set etiquette.
