Sought after contemporary artist, Adam Pomeroy, has produced a new collection of works.
This collection, called ‘Reawakening’, explores Ireland’s ancient woodlands and aims to capture the atmosphere and essence of these once exceptional spaces.
Pomeroy uses a striking palette of varying depths of deep and dark forest greens, contrasted by shafts of light, and results in a collection that is both peacefully beautiful and visually powerful.
In the artists own words “These works are a process of distillation, letting the extraneous evaporate until only the essential remains. The forests that once covered most of Ireland are gone, only pockets of ancient woodland remain. Wild forests can evoke a connection not only to nature but also to our ancestral memory. From the perspective that the human-created landscape is ultimately transitory, these paintings reflect what was and what will be again”.
