Helen Lewis Bursaries – closing 25 Nov

In recognition of the legacy of dancer Helen Lewis, The Crescent Arts Centre is opening the Helen Lewis Bursaries to support and develop dance in Northern Ireland, via small, flexible grants.

The Bursaries are made possible by donations from individuals.

Timeframe

The scheme is open to 25 November 2025 and will operate on a rolling basis, with applications reviewed every 3 weeks.

We are opening the scheme October – November 2025, will learn from the process, with a view to reopening in 2026.

Eligibility

You can apply if you are over 18 years of age and born or resident in Northern Ireland.

What you can apply for

The bursaries aim to support those in the dance sector to expand skills, knowledge and experience. This might include mentoring, going to see a show, photography/portfolio costs. Please see guidance notes for more examples.

You can apply for up to £500.

The Awards scheme is made possible by individual donations and is administered by The Crescent. Many of the individuals involved have a direct connection to Helen Lewis, and in honour of her legacy seek to support the dance sector in Northern Ireland.
