About:
Iontas Arts and Orlagh Meegan-Gallagher together sparked an innovative community project which encouraged elderly residents with dementia to take part in a very special multi-sensory project using visual, auditory, oral and tactile stimuli to trigger wonderful memories and to create art.
This project began Aug 2020, with Orlagh developing and introducing a wide a range of remote artistic experiences (during challenging restrictions) for residents to engage and to get creative with though staff. A very special community collaboration which first began in Castleblayney.
2021 – 2023 will see Creative Ireland and Creative Monaghan fund this very special artist Orlagh Meegan-Gallagher who continue this heartfelt project with the residents of Castleross Nursing Home in Carrickmacross.
