COLIN HASSARD PRESENTS: Poetry Open Mic ss26 – 21 Mar

On World Poetry Day we are delighted to welcome Colin Hassard and guests to the ISLAND for an evening of open mic poetry.

Whether you want to take to the stage or just enjoy the readings, it is sure to be a full-filled and inspiring event as well as a chance for attendees to build connections with local writers and poetry lovers.

This celebration of words is a first of its kind at the ISLAND and is welcoming to poets of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Registration for readers will be open before the event starts, with names selected at random from a hat throughout the event.

All readers will be given a 5-minute slot in which they can share their own work or simply read their favourite poem in a friendly and supportive environment. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable evening to celebrate World Poetry Day!

He is a two-time recipient of Arts Council NI funding, is a regular poet on BBC Radio Ulster, and last year represented Northern Ireland at the Transpoesie international poetry festival in Belgium.
