Submissions Open Flash Fiction Armagh at Crannagael House – closing 3 Aug

Flash Fiction Armagh is now open for submissions for our Flash Fiction event as part of the Visit Armagh Food & Cider event at beautiful Crannagael House, 43 Ardress Rd, Portadown, on September 3rd, 2026.

  • Deadline for submissions is 3rd August 2026.

Flash Fiction Armagh provides a platform for writers to experience immediate audience reaction to their work – a valuable resource for those who sit all day in a room by themselves writing. We aim to entertain and provide an opportunity to mingle and make friends. We encourage people to attend the event, whether they write, read or prefer to listen.

Entries are encouraged from experienced writers, new writers, authors who can extract a short section from their books that feels complete, and poets whose poetry reads like prose and tells a story. Stories must be shorter than 700 words yet have a beginning, a middle and an end.

Submissions

Please email your 200 – 700 word submission within the body of your email (NO ATTACHMENTS please) to byddi@hotmail.com with the subject heading Flash Fiction Armagh Submission.

It is free to enter, but please only submit one piece of work. You must be available to read at the event on September 3rd, 2026, in Crannagael House.

We don’t mind if you submit work that has been submitted elsewhere or that has already been published. Authors are welcome to bring copies of their books to sell.
