Was class a component in the life your parents experienced here?
I have tended to over emphasise identity and under emphasise class, and I had good artistic reasons to do that, but my father was from a rural area in Pakistan, a very poor area, and my mum was from a poor area in Belfast.
It was a formative experience for the whole family, living in the area we did in Belfast, especially when the summer came around.

Where to now?
I am interested in doing something regarding this body of work through film. I have doing a lot of video editing over the last few years and working with moving images and I think there is a lot to work with regarding the story, so I would hope to look at doing something in that area in the future. I think it would well as a film project.
Beyond that, I just have to finish “Partitions” because it will be performed at The Lyric Theatre later in the year.
