What does a Project Manager at thrive do?

In thrive, work splits into 2 departments – one is focused on work for individual clients and the other works to address sector development. This role sits in the middle and supports both.

The Project Manager supports Thrive’s Head of Sector Development to deliver large scale research programmes within the arts sector. You will contribute to project management, liaising with all participating organisations to provide a helpful and courteous service while ensuring various response targets are met. You will also contribute to the delivery of public events to increase the impact of Thrive’s work, by managing logistics such as room hire or catering and problem-solving when necessary.

The Project Manager works closely with the Head of Client Development to keep multiple projects moving smoothly. You will take ownership of tasks, stay on top of timelines, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

You will organise focus groups, interviews and surveys, manage schedules, and keep both internal and external teams informed. You’ll also take clear, detailed notes and maintain accurate records throughout each project.

Across both sector and client sides of the organisation, you will be responsible for ensuring all relevant internal reporting systems such as KPI tracking and CRM records are kept up to date.

THrive is looking for someone who takes initiative and is highly organised. From time to time, you may also contribute to writing content for our website, turning project insights into clear and engaging copy.

The ideal person

Essential criteria

  • Experience of project management and overseeing multiple projects running simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of managing relationships with customers, clients, funders and stakeholders in the delivery of projects, initiatives or programmes to agreed outcomes and standards.
  • Experience of event management.
  • Ability to manage workload, reprioritising frequently as needs change and to schedule your own work independently.
  • A can-do attitude with the ability to think on your feet and find appropriate solutions to problems without guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally.
  • Full competence in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.

Desirable criteria

  • Competence in software such as MS Loop or Powerpoint.
  • Competence in use of SurveyMonkey, CRM or box office systems.
  • Experience of conducting focus groups or interviews.
  • Experience of working in or significant knowledge of the arts sector in Northern Ireland.

The finer details

The salary for this role is £30,000 pro rata for a 4 day week (30 hours).

This is a fixed term contract of nine months with the possibility of extension.

Thrive has a remuneration and reward process which will be outlined as part of the induction process. We offer flexible working, a company pension scheme with 5% employer contribution, 25 days of annual leave plus 11 statutory days (all pro rata).

You also get an extra day of annual leave to celebrate your birthday.

The organisation works 37.5 hours per week with full-time staff being asked to work a minimum of 3 days per week in the company offices at the Crescent Arts Centre (pro-rata for part-time staff).
