A guided walk through North Belfast responding to The Living House and the Antrim Road area. Using Jan Uprichard’s Deep Smelling Protocols, participants are invited to slow down and experience the environment through smell. Artist Talk: Reuben Brown – Fri 26 June, 5pm
Reuben Brown presents club [construction], an ongoing research project exploring the histories and futures of Irish queer club culture, communities, and spaces. The talk considers the queer archive as a site of construction rather than excavation, opening up conversations around memory, visibility, inheritance, and cultural infrastructure. @reubenbrownartist
Be——————longing Reading by Lyónn Wolf – Sat 27 June, 6pm
Presented in their home in North Belfast, Be——————longing combines spoken word, text, and archival film footage from Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital FIlm Archive selected by artist Ellen Blair, to explore how domestic space holds memory and produces queer kinship. The reading considers home as both a physical place and an embodied, affective state, shaped by care, transformation, and ongoing maintenance. @lyonn_wolf
whispering walls, Sinéad O’Neill-Nicholl 21–23 August, 10am–4pm
A site-specific sound installation presented at The Living House as part of Belfast Fleadh. Drawing on local stories, conversations, archival material, and field recordings, whispering walls creates an evolving soundscape where memory, voice, and place resonate across the building and into the street.
