The John Hewitt Tour: A Celebration of Poetry and Place
The Old Church Centre, Cushendun and The John Hewitt Society are working together to create this one-of-a-kind event celebrating John Hewitt and his poetry in the place that inspired it. The day will consist of a talk from Dr Frank Ferguson, Chair of the John Hewitt Society, followed by a coach tour of some of the key sites around the Glens where we will read the poetry inspired by those locations, including Layde churchyard, Hewitt’s cottage and Ossian’s Grave. Please note, one site visit involves a steep uphill walk.
Tea, coffee and shortbread will be provided throughout the day, we will also be serving a lunch prior to the coach tour.
