So where to now?

One of the things we wanted to include in the story was a lot of Belfast’s geography, familiar people, familiar streets and imagery. We also wanted an accumulative element to the story, that allowed the audience to feel that Budgie was fighting against the clock, and everything that happened to him meant he was running out of time.  Once we had all those elements, we were ready to look for filmmakers that would do our script justice.

There had to be characters in the story that would be recognisable, not just in Belfast, although these are primarily Belfast characters, but that they might be the kind of people you would meet in other parts of the world. Once we were satisfied that we had an authentic, solid script, we were ready to share it with people and to contact film-makers.

We are hoping we will be able to find the funding, and people with a social conscience, to turn our script, and this important story, into a film.
