An intimate performance with a selection of the North’s finest and newest performance poets brought to you by actress, playwright and 2025 Ulster Poetry Slam Champion Maria Connolly, at The Lyric Theatre Belfast.
“I started writing poetry as a way to unravel feelings within myself and personal experiences that I found difficult to talk about. Instead of running away from them, I wrote about them and they came out in the form of poetry. Performing my poems led me to uncover a deeper relationship between myself and the audience. I felt the closest version of myself as a performer and writer.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful one off experience hearing a selection of poets I have been lucky enough to witness performing this past year. Be prepared to clap, roar, cheer, laugh, gasp and cry.
