To begin again the effort – A short film with Haiku – Una Woods

To Begin Again is a collaborative 3-minute poetry film uniting the written word, spoken performance, cinematography, and original music.

The haiku sequence by Belfast poet & playwright Una Woods is voiced by Ellen Ann Schultz, filmed by Josh Schultz, and set to an original score composed by Dillon Burns (tatu.ie).

Together, the team created a layered visual and sonic interpretation that brings the poems’ imagery and emotional resonance to life.

The film was commissioned for the 2025 Good Relations Awards, presented by The Northern Ireland Executive Office (TEO) and the Community Relations Council (CRC), which honour individuals, community groups, and projects delivering exceptional Good Relations, intercultural, and peacebuilding work.

To celebrate the winners’ achievements, Community Arts Partnership (CAP) invited writers to create haiku on six themes: Inclusion, Peace, Opportunity, Hope, Creativity, and Innovation. Four haiku were selected for presentation on the award itself, each paired with a short film and accessible via QR code.
