DIALOGUES is an expanded residency bringing together 12 composers and 12 moving-image makers to collaborate on new short films and original scores. Open to artists from all disciplines, it supports both first-time filmmakers alongside composers at any stage.
Beginning in Ballycastle and Belfast, participants develop moving-image work before coming together in Derry/Londonderry to exchange ideas and form creative partnerships.
Composers then develop original scores, culminating in a live recording with the Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny.
Led by Dumbworld’s award-winning Artistic Directors Brian Irvine (Ivor Novello-winning and multi-nominated) and John McIlduff (producer of The Flats, CPH:DOX winner), with visiting artists including Michael Keeney (two-time UK Music Producers Guild Award winner), Die Hexen (IFTA-winning and multi-nominated), Myrid Carten (BIFA-winning director of A Want in Her), and David Holmes (BAFTA Craft Award winner for Killing Eve).
