The Discover Creative Careers programme (funded by DCMS) has opened, and it includes all devolved nations. The programme delivers careers support for young people considering a job in the creative industries. It is aimed at young people aged 11–24 across the UK, with a particular focus on those from under-represented backgrounds and underserved regions.
The Industry Pack provides information on the Discover Creative Careers programme for SMEs, freelancers, and activities that industry can engage with and the support/ benefits available. Discover Creative Careers are especially keen to get the word out in Northern Ireland and recruit SMEs and freelancers for activity in preparation for Discover Month in November. For example, the Industry Pack states that eligible organisations can access small grants of £2,000–£5,000, and financial support is available for participating freelancers, providing bursaries of £100 per half-day and £200 per full day, plus £100 for expenses.
