The ARC is CAP’s shared community arts resource centre in the heart of Belfast
It has been New Belfast Community Arts Initiative t/a Community Arts Partnership’s long-held intention to develop a dedicated multi-purpose community arts centre in heart of Belfast city centre. Since 2003, CAP and others have sought the development of a physical space, where the additional benefits of concentrating and clustering creative and socially-economic activity can multiply the capacity of the organisation and see more significant and crucially sustainable creative development emerge.

Community Arts Partnership believes that the creation of a multi-purpose community arts centre will considerably enhance the cultural life of the area, but it would also benefit communities, visitors and the city as a whole. Such development would:
- develop cultural product within Northern Ireland
- increase opportunities for participation in and access the arts, especially for the marginalised
- increase opportunities to develop skills level within the workforce across all sectors, including the arts and creative industries
- increase work opportunities in the arts
- bring all sections of the community together through the arts
- use the arts as a tool to assist in the regeneration of Belfast city and promote the city as a cultural tourist destination
- significantly enhance the sustainability of Community Arts Partnership, the lead agency in the delivery of community arts in the region
- offer a new, small scale, performance venue
The Arts Resource Centre, situated on 7 Donegall Street Place, Belfast, BT1 2FN, has currently on offer:
- Spaces for small or larger events
- HD projector and sound system
- Disability access
- Special hire rates for community groups and charities
- Hot and cold food can be supplied
- Free of charge evening car parking
