Glen Wilson is the Winner of the Seamus Heaney Award for New Writing 2017!

CAP is delighted to announce the Winner of the Seamus Heaney Award for New Writing 2017 is Glen Wilson for his poem ‘The Lotus Gait’!

Glen Wilson accepts the Winners award from [l-r] Moyra Donaldson, Frank Ormsby and Conor Shields (CAP’s CEO).

The runner-up, as selected by the award’s three judges (Frank Ormsby, Moyra Donaldsone and Maire-Louise Muir), is Matthew Rice for his poem Turtle. Furthermore, a commendation went to Emma McKervey for her poems, Aleph to Taf and Laundry

Also shortlisted were Clare McWilliams for The Day of the Buckets and Clodagh Harvey for If not El Niño, what? and Ross Thompson for The Daily Crossword.
